Town Council - Accomplishments

  • Kept Avon’s taxes to one of the lowest of the 29 towns in the Capital Region.
  • Increased the elderly homeowners’ tax relief program.
  • Initiated expansion at Avon High School to accommodate 1,300 students.
  • Built new recreation facilities at Buckingham fields.
  • Avon ranked #2 out of 30 towns with populations of 15,000 to 25,000 in Connecticut Magazine’s poll of “great places to live.”
